The Free Bread Project is our Flagship hunger relief appeal that provides fresh, nutritious bread to poor families in Syria. We work with volunteers in areas around Northern Syria to distribute bread bundles in some of the region’s most deprived communities.
Northern Syria is an extremely hard to reach location that many other charities are unable to provide humanitarian assistance in, but thanks to the Free Bread Project impoverished families throughout the area continue to have a source of relief they can rely on.

Every day, people in Syria go hungry. Families are forced to ration their food and send their children to bed with empty stomachs, all because food insecurity is rampant throughout the nation. For a small donation of 25, you can help us provide fresh baked bread to people in need.
The Holy Qur’an says: “(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: 'We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.” (76:8-9)
We make all the bread we deliver at our bakery in Idlib! The Al Huda Bakery is truly a lifeline for thousands of Syrian families throughout the country. Fresh bread is baked and distributed daily by our bakery volunteers to hundreds of struggling Syrians. We distribute our baked goods at seven local refugee camps, reaching around 10,500 people every day.
Just one tonne of flour is enough to produce 1,000 packs of bread, and each of these packs provide a struggling Syrian family with enough bread for an entire meal.
