Fresh Water wells in Syria
We’re building fresh water wells and installing easy-to-use hand pumps in Damascus and Ghouta to give Syrian families clean water supplies they can use for years to come. Our hand pumps and water wells are always ideally located close to communities in need, so clean water is always readily available and easily accessible to Syrians in the area.
So far in Damascus, we have set up 40 hand pumps to benefit over 5,000 Syrians with all their water needs. We are constantly surveying new areas to build more fresh water wells, that will ensure safe drinking is brought to as many communities as possible. Three large water wells have also been constructed in Ghouta, while another was built at the Qah Refugee Camp, providing water for more than 2,000 people every day.

Water shortages throughout the nation have left people fighting for their lives, with no choice but to use dirty, contaminated water to drink, cook, clean and wash with. Syria is in dire need of clean water, and SKT Welfare has set out to help hydrate Syrian communities by drilling wells, installing hand pumps and delivering barrels of safe, fresh water directly to the homes of people in need.
Our teams on the ground deliver water to Syrian families every day, distributing around 30 barrels of clean water a day. Each family receives 5 barrels of fresh water with every delivery, providing them with a safe means to drink without worry.
