Story

Since early August, thousands of Kashmiris living in Indian-Administered Kashmir have been facing extreme hardships and are facing shortages in food and medicines. They are unable to leave their homes or communicate with the outside world as communication lines are down.

Five civilians have been killed in Indian-administered Kashmir since 4th August, and thousands have been injured, humiliated and assaulted.

Supplies of food, water and medicine are running dangerously low.

Together we can stand in solidarity with Kashmir and offer real, practical help to those in need.

SKT Welfare is working with a local partner to provide food and emergency supplies. Your generous donations will ease the suffering of the people of Kashmir, which our partner on the ground has identified as the most affected zone in the valley. This includes the districts of Islamabad (Anantnag), Pulwama and Shopian.

Our Food packs will provide essentials to those in dire need, including, rice sugar, flour, oil, lentils, tea, beans and spices. This will provide comfort to Kashmiri families amidst the crisis, and stop them from going hungry.

Due to the on-going devastating curfew, countless families have been unable to leave their homes for weeks, roads are blocked, markets are closed, and thousands are at risk as the price of food, travel and accommodation has quadrupled at least.

SKT Welfare has secured a reliable, local Kashmir-based partner organisation with over 20 years of experience working in Indian-adminstered Kashmir. They have been allocated curfew passes, which means that they will be able to deliver food and aid to Kashmir despite the lock-down and communications blackout.

Donate now, and help us reach Kashmir with essential food and emergency aid.

Just £50 will provide a family with a food pack so they don't go hungry in these devastating times.
