Ramadan The Holy Month

“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.” - The Prophet (saw) [Bukhari]

The month of Ramadan is the most wonderful time of the year. For a non-believer, this might be hard to understand; after all, during Ramadan, we Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.

But Ramadan is special because we do things differently; we abstain from food and water, and we shift our focus to Allah (swt). This opens up our understanding, our compassion, our deen.

RAMADAN FOOD DONATIONS

“Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.” (Tirmidhi)

It is only during this holy month that we understand how hunger really feels. But whilst we break our fasts with nutritious food every Iftar and Suhoor, millions of people cannot afford to do the same. At SKT Welfare, we work tirelessly every Ramadan to make sure that we, as a global Ummah, can break our fasts as one.

For 10 years, our hard-working staff and volunteers have provided food parcels to those less fortunate every Ramadan; people living through conflict and poverty in Syria, Yemen, Pakistan and Somalia, as well as Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

THE LAST TEN NIGHTS

Aisha wrote, “I had never known Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) to read the entire Quran in a single night, or to spend the whole night in prayer up until the morning, or to spend a whole month in fasting – except in Ramadan.” (An Nasai’ and Ibn Majah)

In the blessed final ten nights of Ramadan, we honour these nights through prayer and doing good in the world. Among these nights is Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) – a night more blessed than a thousand months.

The Prophet Muhammad (saw) would spend the last ten nights of Ramadan in constant worship and good deeds, and we follow his sunnah by praying, worshipping and giving to charity over this special time. Many people choose to give their Zakat or Sadaqah Jariyah over this holy time.

100% of your Ramadan donation will go towards those in extreme need, meaning that you will bless not only yourself, but also others, through your kindness.

Make your Ramadan donation over the last ten nights, and do something truly special.
